Okay, so yesterday I told you about some challenges I am going to be taking part in. I’m going to give you one more link that someone (sorry, I forget who, but if it was you, speak up!) posted on Twitter yesterday. I had a brief look yesterday before heading out, and I am still deciding whether I am going to do it or not, but it seems to be more about life, and the self, in general, so I’ve added it to my reader and I’m going to unofficially, informally take part, for now.
That isn’t what this post is about though. What it is about is a challenge I am thinking about setting up myself.
Last year I took part in The Bloggest Loser Challenge, but I never finished. life took over, I got depressed and barely left the house, and I pretty much bombed out of it.
But, I was thinking. It did, for awhile, get me motivated. So, why not set up my own challenge?
I loved the format at The Daily Burn, and I was sure i could work something around that. But, I didn’t want to make it about weight loss. Sure, that may be a side effect (you have been warned!), instead I wanted to make it about getting up and getting active.
What I am looking at doing is setting up a few different categories and seeing, over a six month period, which challenger can do the most x, or do the most km’s via x (it looks like I will have to break this down into areas such as treadmill/bike/walking due to the set up of The Daily Burn’s challenges.)
I am looking to start as of February 1st. I will post more information before then, but what I want to know is who is interested? (It will be a private group, invite only, so I will need to know who would like an invite) And, if you are interested, is there a particular “event” you might like me to add (perhaps you are a sit up queen - or king – and think you could rock that challenge). Leave a comment below and I will see if it is worth doing as a group.
If there is enough interest I will set up a facebook group, and if there is enough interest maybe approach some sponsors for prizes.
Edit: Look! There is now a logo/button for this challenge! There were a few people interested on Facebook, so there is now a group over there with further details on the challenges as they are developed. They still aren’t starting until February 1st, but you can join the group or challenges as of now, if you are interested. Leave a comment and I will invite you as both challenges and the group are closed (invite only).
